IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with great sadness that we announce again this year – 2025 – that the “Polar Bear Express” Christmas train event will not be held due to continued work on the trestle. We have delayed putting this announcement out in hopes that the trestle would be completed in time for the Railroad to open for the Christmas event. We truly appreciate the phone calls and other inquiries as to the progress of the project and whether or not
“Polar Bear Express” event would be available so that families could enjoy again the spectacular Christmas train ride through Veterans Memorial Park in Bristol.
Although we will all miss this event, we are tentatively planning to open in February and/or March for our 2nd Saturday of the month Public Run Day, dependent on the completion date of the trestle. Additional information will be forthcoming on this schedule. Also, Special Reservations will resume for those wishing to reserve the train for a daytime birthday party or family gathering.
As soon as we are advised that the trestle will be completed within a specific date, our website will be updated accordingly.

Repairs Must Be Done Before Anyone
Can Ride Our Train!
We have just found out that repairs must be made on the trestle through the woods! We have no choice but to cancel all train rides until this can be properly addressed. We do not have a timeline for when repairs can be started or completed. Watch this website or our Facebook page for repair updates. We are very sorry for the cancellation, but the safety of all those who come to ride is extremely important to us.
Free Public Run days – No charge however donations are appreciated to help pay for fuel and train expenses. Our staff, including engineers and conductors, are all volunteers. The train cannot run when it is raining. Please check the weather in Bristol before departing for train ride.
Veterans Memorial Park offers amenities for families: a nice playground, a large covered picnic pavilion, and one mile of a paved walking trail, all of which can be enjoyed at any time of the year.
